Terms of Service

Last updated: January 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using House of Challah (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. The Platform

House of Challah is a platform that helps people host and attend Shabbat meals, holiday gatherings, and Jewish community events. We are not a party to any meal, event, or agreement between hosts and guests.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Platform.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

5. Hosting and Attending Events

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the safety of their guests, and compliance with applicable laws (including food safety and zoning). Guests are responsible for their own behavior at events and for following the host’s house rules.

6. Payments

Payments between guests and hosts are processed by our payment partner, Stripe. Hosts receiving payments may be required to complete identity verification. Platform fees, if any, are disclosed before you complete a transaction.

7. Prohibited Conduct

  • No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
  • No fraudulent listings, fake reviews, or impersonation.
  • No illegal activity or violation of anyone’s rights.
  • No scraping, reverse-engineering, or abusing the Platform.

8. Content

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant House of Challah a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or if your use of the Platform poses a risk to other users or to us.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the conduct of any host or guest, the quality of any event, or continuous availability of the Platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, House of Challah is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
